Our Educational Philosophy

Education can do more than fill minds with facts. It can shape character, nurture faith, and open a child’s eyes to their place in God’s story.

At Oskaloosa Christian, we don’t put each subject into its own separate box. Through the Teaching for Transformation design framework, students learn to see the connections: math as God’s order, history as His faithfulness, science as His design. From Transitional Kindergarten through 8th grade, every lesson points beyond itself.

Preparing Students to Succeed

We’re accredited by Christian Schools International (CSI) and meet Iowa state standards, but those labels only tell part of the story. What matters most is what happens for our students:

  • Small class sizes create space for genuine teacher-student relationships that support academic and personal growth.
  • Our graduates arrive at high school well-prepared, with many qualifying for advanced coursework from day one.
  • Many continue their Christian education at Pella Christian High School, confident in both their academics and their faith.

Parent testimonial:

Oskaloosa Christian has been such a gift to our daughter. She’s grown up with a strong biblical foundation where prayer, chapel, worship, and serving others are a natural part of her school day. Academically, she’s built solid study habits, stayed organized, and even advanced in classes like Algebra I before high school.

She’s also had countless opportunities to lead, build friendships across grade levels, and develop her gifts in music and sports—things that might not have been possible in a larger school. We’re so thankful for how Osky Christian has prepared her spiritually, academically, and socially for the next step.
